KVS: Admission for first class starts from April 1

    The online admission window for the first class for the academic session 2021-22 is open from April 1 in all 1247 Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) schools in the country. Parents will get a chance to fill the application form by 7 pm on 19 April.

    Online registration till April 19, a total of three merits will be issued
    The first merit list will be released on 23 April based on the online application form. While the second merit list will come on April 30 and the third on May 5. If any unreserved seat remains vacant then admissions will be made from May 3 to 5.

    According to a senior official of the Union Ministry of Education, the seats admitted in the first class in Kendriya Vidyalaya schools will be fully met with merit under other rules, including reservation for various categories of the central government. Parents can fill the online application form on KVS and mobile app.

    For admission in the first class, the age of the child must be from 5 years to 7 years (till 31 March). A student with disability can get a relaxation of two years in the age limit with the consent of the school principal. All the admission process for the upcoming session 2021 in the Kendriya Vidyalaya will have to be completed by 31 May. Apart from this, under the Right to Education and if there is not enough application for admission in the Scheduled Castes, Tribes and Backward Classes, it can issue a second notification.

    Admission on seat availability in other classes
    Admission from second class to other classes will be based on the vacant seats available in the school. For this, the application form has to be filled from April 8 to 15 in the offline mode. If a seat is vacant in these classes, the concerned school will issue the merit list for admission on April 19. Based on this, from April 20 to 27, parents will have to go and enroll in schools.

    It is mandatory to make merit public
    It will be mandatory for all schools to make the merit list of admission public. This will include information about the seat allotment under the OBC, SC, ST, Divyang, Single Girl, Defense and Central Employees category. Its purpose is to make the admission process transparent. The OBC reservation rules for admission to KV in 2020 have come into force. Only 40 students will get admission in a section.

    The board of class 10 will have to register for admission in class 11 within 10 days of the release of the result. While a merit list will have to be issued in 20 days. Schools and parents will get 30 days after the result is released for the admission process in class 11.
