Salary of Journalists in India

According to the Salary Survey, Search Wages & Salary Comparison, the average salary offered to journalists in India is Rs. 2.4 lakhs per annum. However, a person would not have more than 20 years of experience in any job related to Journalism.

Salary ranges between Rs. 1,00,373 and 624,342. Bonus ranges between Rs. 9.85- 102129. Total salary ranges between Rs.107,020 and Rs.863,449.

In the Public Sector, a person with a Journalism can earn between Rs.15000 and Rs. 20000 per month.

Professionals working in News production- the production journalists will have skills and specialized in language and editing, designing, analysis and adequate knowledge in multimedia platform and applications.

Senior editor/sub-editor/copywriter or copy-editor with over 10 years experience working in metropolitan cities such as Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai would be able to earn from Rs. 3 lakhs to more than 7 lakhs per year.
