Good news for students preparing to enroll in Chartered Accountants (CA) course. Now students will be able to register for the foundation course of CA after 10th standard. Earlier, they could register only after passing 12th. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has approved the new arrangement.

Keeping this objective in mind and considering the various requests received from stakeholders, ICAI had sent a proposal to the Government of India to amend the rules of the Chartered Accountant Regulations, 1988 WRT, to change the requirement of admission.
ICAI President CA Atul Kumar Gupta said that the institute has recently received the approval of the Government of India for amending Rules 25E, 25F and 28F of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988. After this amendment, students will now be able to register provisional in the foundation course of ICAI after passing the Class X examination. However, provisional admission to the foundation course will be regularized only after the candidate passes the class 12th examination.

The ICAI President further stated that the basic motive behind this proposal was to allow students to register provisional in the foundation course after passing the tenth grade examination. This will help the students prepare for the foundation course while continuing their studies in class XI and XII. Thus they will have ample time to sit in the CA Foundation course along with updating themselves and acquiring the necessary technical knowledge.

Explain that ICAI also offers free online classes to the Foundation’s students, which can be accessed anytime, anywhere. It is to be noted that after appearing in the twelfth grade examination in February / March, the student will be eligible to appear in the foundation examination to be held in May / June.
