DSSSB may soon recruit teachers

    The Delhi High Court on Friday lashed out at the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB), the Municipal Corporation, and the Government of Delhi while hearing a contempt petition filed by an NGO ‘Social Jurist’. Hearing the petition, Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva of Delhi High Court said that the number of private schools is increasing rapidly due to the lack of good teachers in government schools.

    When the lawyer appearing on behalf of the Municipal Corporation said in the court that the number of students in government schools is steadily decreasing, Justice Sachdeva said that when you do not have enough and good teachers as per the requirement, then the children are private. Will go to school. ”At the same time, the counsel appearing for NGO ‘Social Jurist’ at the time of hearing of the case informed the court that the government and the Municipal Corporation have not taken any steps to fill the vacant posts of teachers. And he has left poor children to trust God.

    On this, the counsel appearing for DSSSB and Municipal Corporation in the matter of recruitment of special teachers in the schools of Delhi Municipal bodies informed the court that till 2017, out of total 01 thousand 540 vacancies of special teachers, 935 posts have remained vacant so far. On this, Justice Sachdeva directed the municipal corporations to send a letter of request to the DSSSB to fill 935 vacant posts of special teachers, and together the court directed the DSSSB to send the dossier of 780 selected candidates in the municipal schools to the MCD. Giving, he fixed the date of 26 September 2020 for the next hearing of the case.

    The court has also directed the Municipal Corporation of Delhi and DSSSB to submit a status report on the decision taken in the case of the recruitment of special teachers in municipal schools.
