ICAR announced entrance exam for admission in agri

    Indian Council of Agricultural Research has declared the dates of the All India Entrance Test to be held for admission to the undergraduate courses of Agriculture. This examination will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on 7 and 8 September 2020. The dates of entrance exams for admission in postgraduate and Ph.D. programs have not been announced yet. They will be announced after some time. At present, the date of the computer-based test for only undergraduate programs has been declared. This exam is being held very late from its scheduled time. In fact, the exam was postponed several times due to COVID and the lockdown to protect it. According to the fixed schedule, the first examination was to be held in the month of June, but since then it was deferred many times.

    The examination will be done in two shifts

    Because of Kovid, the ICAR has decided that this entrance exam for undergraduate classes will be done in two shifts and in two days so that social distancing can be followed. Admit card release and result declare a date for this exam will be released by the NTA soon on the official website. To get information about dates, you can visit both these websites – nta.ac.in and icar.nta.nic.in.

    This year, about 1,97,837 students will take this exam for admission to the UG program in various agricultural universities. The NTA has set up about 178 exam centers for this exam.

    Exams are held once a year

    The ICAR conducts the All India Entrance Exam every year, through which admission is offered in Agricultural Universities in Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral degree programs. According to ICAR, those candidates who have passed class 12th from a recognized board can apply for this examination.
