Recruitment has been taken on the posts of Assistant Professor in the colleges of the state. The online application process for recruitment to the total of 2003 posts will start from 25 February. Uttar Pradesh Higher Education Service Commission has started recruitment of Assistant Professor. Applications have been invited for the 2003 posts of Assistant Professor for a total of 47 subjects. However, the Commission has not yet released the details of subject wise vacancies.

According to media reports, the process of registration and submission of fees for online application will start from 25 February. The last date for online application for the exam is 27 March 2021. The written examination for these posts will be held in various stages starting from 26 May.

The Directorate of Higher Education had sent the 2016 posts of Assistant Professor to the Higher Education Service Commission on 30 September 2020. But the Directorate did not prescribe horizontal reservation on these posts. The Commission had requested to determine the horizontal reservation of posts by sending the vacant posts back to the Directorate of Higher Education. The file was received from the Directorate on 3 February.
