Registration for JEE Advanced 2020 starts

    Registration for the JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) Advanced 2020 to be conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) is going to start today (11 September 2020). This time IIT will be Delhi Organizing Institute. This examination will be conducted as per the guidelines of the Joint Admission Board (JAB) 2020 made in 7 zonal coordinating IITs. Based on the performance in JEE Advanced, applicants will be eligible for admission to Bachelors, Integrated Masters, and Dual Degree programs in all IITs. These admissions will be for the academic session 2020-21. The decision of JAB 2020 will be final in all matters related to this examination. It is worth mentioning that an applicant can give this exam a maximum of 2 times in 2 consecutive years.

    Merit:
    In order to take the JEE Advanced 2020 examination, it is necessary that the candidates have taken the JEE Main 2020 examination. Also, it is necessary for the candidate to be included in the top 2,50,000 successful candidates in the BE / BTech paper of the Main Examination. In addition, applicants must have been born on or after 1 October 1995. SC, ST, and PWD categories applicants have been given 5 years of relaxation in the age limit. It is also mandatory that the applicant has appeared for the 12th class examinations with Physics, Chemistry, and Maths subjects for the first time in the year 2019 or 2020. If an applicant has ever got admission in any IIT before, then he will not be considered eligible for the JEE Advanced exam.

    Exam pattern:
    This test will be conducted in a computer-based test (CBT) mode only. There will be 2 question papers in this exam – Paper 1 and Paper 2. Both these papers will be of 3–3 hours duration. Paper 1 will be held from 9 am to 12 pm. At the same time, Paper 2 will be done from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. No applicant will be allowed to leave the examination center before the completion of time. It will be mandatory for applicants to give both papers. Each paper will have 3 different sections in Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. Negative marking will be done for every wrong answer.     How to apply
    Interested applicants can apply online by visiting the website jeeadv.ac.in. After login on to the website, the applicants have to provide their basic information and choose the city of their choice for the exam. Applicants must also pay registration fees. Women applicants from all categories will have to pay a registration fee of Rs 1400, SC, ST, and PWD applicants for Rs 1400 and other applicants for Rs 2800. At the same time, applicants from SAARC countries will have to pay a registration fee of 75 US dollars and applicants from non-SAARC countries 150 US dollars.
