Election Commission extends ban on rallies, roadshows till January 22 

The Election Commission on Saturday banned rallies and roadshows in the five election-going States, but allowed political parties to hold indoor meetings of up to 300 people or 50% of the venue’s capacity.   While announcing the poll schedule for Goa, Manipur, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand on January 8, the EC banned all physical rallies, roadshows, padyatras, processions and vehicle rallies in view of the rising COVID-19 cases. Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra had said the ban would be till Saturday, when it would be reviewed.   On Saturday, the EC held virtual meetings with the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry and Chief Electoral Officers, Chief Secretaries and Health Secretaries of the five poll-bound States. The three-member Commission held a comprehensive review of present status and projected trends of COVID pandemic with special focus in the five poll going States, an EC statement said.   The EC decided to continue the ban on roadshows, padyatras, cycle/bike/vehicle rallies, processions and rallies by political parties and candidates till January 22, when it would review the decision again.   However, the Commission has granted relaxation for the political parties to the extent that indoor meetings of maximum 300 persons or 50% of the capacity of the hall or the prescribed limit set by SDMA will be allowed, the EC statement read.   

BJP names 107 candidates, fields Adityanath from Gorakhpur 

The BJP on Saturday declared its first list of candidates for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly poll, with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to contest from Gorakhpur (Urban) and Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya from the Sirathu Assembly constituency.   Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and BJP general secretary Arun Singh named a total of 107 candidates for the first two phases of the seven-phase election.  Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addresses a press conference after inspecting a COVID-19 care ward at BRD Medical Collage in Gorakhpur on January 15, 2022.   With the declaration of Mr. Adityanath’s seat as Gorakhpur, all speculation that he might contest from Ayodhya has also been put to rest. The list of 107 seats, 57 for phase I and 48 for phase II, saw 63 out of 83 sitting MLAs of the party being retained and 20 MLAs dropped. As far as the caste break-up of the candidate list goes, 68% of the seats have gone to OBC candidates (44 candidates) and 19 to SC candidates, including Jagpal Singh being fielded from the general category seat of Saharanpur. While 10 women have been included in the list, no Muslim has been given ticket.   

Virat Kohli steps down as Test captain 

Virat Kohli on Saturday dropped a bombshell by quitting Test captaincy following the unexpected series defeat against South Africa.   Kohli was appointed Test captain in 2014 when M.S. Dhoni stepped down in the middle of the series against Australia.  Virat Kohli.   Every thing has to come to a halt at some stage and for me as Test captain of India, it’s now. There have been many ups and also some downs along the journey but there has never been lack of effort or lack of belief, Kohli wrote in a statement which he posted on Twitter, taking everyone by surprise. His shock announcement came a day after India lost the Test series in South Africa 1-2.   Kohli led India to the top of world rankings, and during his tenure the team recorded a memorable series win in Australia.   The 33-year old had recently quit as T20 captain and was later sacked at ODI captain by the BCCI.  

Won’t let any attempt to change status quo along borders: Army Chief 

The Army will not let any attempt to unilaterally change the status quo along the country’s borders succeed, Army Chief Gen. M.M. Naravane said addressing the rank and file on Saturday while the Army’s paratroopers showcased the new combat dress at the Army Day parade.  Our patience is a sign of our self-confidence, but no one should make the mistake of testIng it… Our message is clear, the Indian Army won’t let any attempt to unilaterally change status quo along country’s borders to succeed, Gen. Naravane said addressing the parade on the 74th Army Day.  His comments come in the backdrop of the continuing standoff in eastern Ladakh with the 14th round of Corps Commander talks between India and China earlier this week failing to achieve a breakthrough for the next phase of disengagement at Hot Springs. Over 50,000 troops from each side continue to be deployed in the high-altitude region very close to the Line of Actual Control in extreme winters.  Gen. Naravane said joint efforts at various levels have led to disengagement in many areas which in itself is a constructive step and added that on the basis of mutual and equal security, efforts would continue to find a solution to the current situation.  

   

Inquiry rules out mechanical failure, sabotage or negligence 

The tri-services inquiry into the Mi-17 V5 helicopter that killed Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Gen. Bipin Rawat and 13 others has submitted its preliminary findings according to which the crash occurred due to unexpected change in weather conditions that led to spatial disorientation of the pilot resulting in Controlled Flight into Terrain (CFIT), the Indian Air Force (IAF) said on January 14.  The Court of Inquiry (CoI) has ruled out mechanical failure, sabotage or negligence as a cause of the accident. The accident was a result of entry into clouds due to unexpected change in weather conditions in the valley. This led to spatial disorientation of the pilot resulting in CFIT, the IAF said in a statement. Based on its findings, the CoI has made certain recommendations which are being reviewed.  The IAF added that the inquiry team analysed the Flight Data Recorder and Cockpit Voice Recorder besides questioning all available witnesses to determine the most probable cause of the accident.  Army personnel carry out an investigation procedure at the crash site in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu, on December 9, 2021 a day after an Army helicopter crashed, killing 13 people, including Indian defence chief General Bipin Rawat.   

J&K Police arrest human rights activist Ahsan Untoo for ‘spreading disaffection’ against India

The J&K Police on January 14 said they have booked and arrested human rights activist Ahsan Untoo for spreading disaffection, ill-will and disharmony against the Union of India.  By spreading false propaganda, disinformation campaigns and hate speech through the social media spaces, Untoo is not only threatening to disturb the prevailing peaceful atmosphere of UT of J&K but spreading disaffection, ill-will and disharmony against the Union of India. He Is also actively spreading the terrorist secessionist agenda and is thus inciting youth to resort to violence and indulge in unlawful activities, a police spokesman said.  The police said the activities of Untoo amount to commission of cognizable offence. Thakur and Dar, in their online statements, have refuted the police charges and denied their involvement in any militant activities in J&K.   

Bishop Franco acquitted in nun rape case 

The Additional District and Sessions Court in Kottayam on January 14 acquitted Bishop Franco Mulakkal, former head of the Latin Catholic Diocese of Jalandhar, of all charges in connection with a rape complaint filed by a nun in the same diocese. Praise the Lord, the Bishop told media persons, while emerging out of the court after the verdict. He also broke down and embraced his lawyers following the judgment.  Earlier In the day, the police had beefed up security on the court premises by taking into consideration a possible crisis in the law-and-order situation. Based on a rape complaint lodged by a nun on June 29, 2018, the bishop was arrested on September 21 the same year. He was in jail for 25 days after the court remanded him.  The chargesheet against the Bishop, which consisted of 2,000 pages in three volumes, was submitted on April 4, 2019. The trial in the case commenced in November 2019 and concluded on January 10. Of the 83 witnesses listed by the prosecution, 39 were examined during the trial.  The witnesses included Major Archbishop of the Syro-Malabar Church Cardinal Mar George Alencherry, Bishop Kurian Valiyakandathil, Bishop of Bhagalpur in Bihar, and Bishop Sebastian Vadakkel of the diocese of Ujjain, and 11 priests and 25 nuns.  The bishop was arraigned as an accused in the case under Indian Penal Code Sections 342 (wrongful confinement), 376 (2k) (rape on a woman incapable of giving consent), 376 (2n) (causing grievous bodily harm during rape), 376 © (a) and 377 (unnatural offence), and 506 (1) (criminal intimidation).

Russia demands U.S., NATO response next week on Ukraine 

Russia on Friday strongly repeated its demand that NATO will not expand eastward, despite the rejection of that by the military alliance amid a Russian troop buildup near Ukraine. It added that it wouldn’t wait indefinitely for the Western response.  Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Friday described Moscow’s demands that NATO will neither expand nor deploy forces to Ukraine and other ex-Soviet nations as essential for the progress of diplomatic efforts to defuse soaring tensions over Ukraine.  He argued that the deployment of NATO forces and weapons near Russia’s borders poses a security challenge that must be addressed immediately. We have run out of patience, Lavrov said at a news conference. The West has been driven by hubris and has exacerbated tensions in violation of its obligations and common sense.  Lavrov said that Russia expects Washington and NATO to provide a written response to its demands next week. Amid the tensions, Ukraine sustained a massive cyberattack Friday, which hit websites of multiple government agencies.  This week’s negotiations in Geneva and a related NATO-Russia meeting in Brussels were held amid a significant Russian troop buildup near Ukraine that the West fears might be a prelude to an invasion. 

Novak Djokovic’s visa cancelled for a second time by the Australian government 

The Australian government cancelled Novak Djokovic’s visa for a second time on January 14, saying the world tennis No. 1, unvaccinated for COVID-19, may pose a risk to the community.  The decision raises the prospect of a second court battle by the Serbian tennis star to be allowed to stay and bid for a record 21st major tennis title at the Australian Open, but time is running out with the tournament starting on January 17.  Australian Immigration Minister Alex Hawke exercised his discretionary powers to revoke Djokovic’s visa after a court quashed an earlier revocation and released him from immigration detention on January 10.  Today I exercised my power under section 133C (3) of the Migration Act to cancel the visa held by Mr. Novak Djokovic on health and good order grounds, on the basis that it was in the public interest to do so, Hawke said in a statement.  The government is firmly committed to protecting Australia’s borders, particularly in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic, Hawke said.  He said he had carefully considered information from Djokovic, the Department of Home Affairs and the Australian Border Force.  Under the section of the Migration Act which the minister used to exercise his power to cancel the visa, Djokovic would not be able to secure a visa to come to Australia for three years, except in compelling circumstances that affect Australia’s interest. Djokovic, the Australian Open defending champion, was included in the draw on January 13 as top seed and was due to face fellow Serb Miomir Kecmanovic for his opening match, probably on January 17 or January 18.

Government scraps chopper, missiles tenders to push ‘Make in India’

The Central Government to promote ‘Make in India’ has decided to withdraw the tenders for deals that are related to buying the short-range surface-to-air missiles and 14 helicopters. However, the forces are allowed to go ahead with a deal to buy air-to-ground missiles from France and overhaul Russian helicopters.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal to visit Goa for two-day tour

The Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal, ahead of the assembly polls, will visit Goa for a two-day tour on January 15 and January 16. In the poll-bound state, he will participate in the door-to-door campaign and other activities.

The Defence Ministry has launched three new initiatives for the welfare of the ex-servicemen and their families on the occasion of Armed Forces Veteran Day. It is celebrated on January 14 every year.

The Election Commission of India has decided to double the broadcast and telecast time allotted to each National Party and recognized the State Parties in the poll-bound states. The decision has been taken in consultation with Prasar Bharti in view of Pandemic.

The President of the European Parliament David Sassoli passed away in a hospital in Italy at the age of 65. Sassoli was undergoing treatment for immune system disorder. He had led the European Union body that approves or rejects legislation and is responsible for establishing budgets and supervising a combination of institutions.

US to distribute at-home, Rapid COVID-19 tests for free to ainstitutions

The Government of the United States has decided to expand the testing capacity by distributing rapid COVID-19 tests for free to Americans. The half-billion tests will be available for order from January 19, 2022, and will be mailed directly.

North Korea announces firing 2 train-borne guided missiles

North Korea has announced that its railway-based missile regiment conducted a firing drill with two tactical guided missiles hitting a set target in the East Sea. It has marked North Korea’s second known missile test using a railway launch platform since the last one on September 2021.

Madhya Pradesh to bring law to regulate online gaming

Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra informed on January 13, 2022 that the state government will bring a law to regulate online games after an 11-year-old boy committed suicide by hanging himself due to his addiction to an online game. The Minister said that to prevent such a tragic incident again, we are bringing a law to regulate online gaming. He said that a draft of the law has already been prepared and will be finalised soon. 

Budget Session 2022 to begin from January 31

The Budget Session of Parliament will begin on January 31, 2022. It will be held in two parts. The session will begin with the address of President Kovind to the joint sitting of both the Houses. The Budget will be presented on February 1. The final conclusion of Budget 2022 session will be on April 8.

Critics Choice Awards Awards postponed

The Critics Choice Awards ceremony has been postponed and will now be conducted at a later date. The ceremony is likely to be conducted on a date when BAFTA Awards will be conducted. Indian Naval Ships undertook maritime exercise with Japanese ships

Indian Naval ships Kadmatt and Shivalik participated in a Maritime Partnership Exercise with Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force Ships Uraga and Hirado in the Bay of Bengal on January 13, 2022. The maritime exercise included a wide range of operations including flying operations, tactical maneuvers and replenishment approaches.

AIIMS Director Dr. Randeep Guleria said during an interactive webinar session on January 13, 2022 highlighted that it is important for us to understand that children are not like adults and need to be treated separately. Another medical expert from AIIMS, Dr. Prof Ashok Deorari said that Omicron does affect children but it is a mild disease. He also spoke about curtailing the fear and panic created among families.

The current COVID-19 wave caused by Omicron is likely to subside by March 2022 as per public health experts. The spread due to the Omicron variant of COVID-19 is much faster than Delta and the last few days have seen a steep rise in cases. Philippines awards Contract for BrahMos Missiles to India

The Philippines Government has accepted the proposal of the Indian BrahMos Aerospace Private Limited to supply shore-based anti-ship missile systems for the Indian Navy. The contract is worth USD 375 million. The move will prove to be a major success for the Indian Government’s plans to increase defence exports.

S Somanath appointed new ISRO Chief

S Somanath has been appointed as the new ISRO Chief after the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved his appointment on January 12, 2022. Somanath has been appointed as Secretary of the Department of Space and ISRO Chairman for a combined term of three years from the date of joining. He is currently the Director of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre. He will be succeeding K Sivan. 

PM Modi to meet all Chief Ministers to discuss COVID situation today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be meeting with the Chief Ministers of all states at 4.30 pm today, January 13, 2022 to discuss the COVID situation through video conferencing. This is the first meeting of the Prime Minister with all the CMs this year. He had held several such meetings last year during the second wave. 

COVID-19 caused by Omicron should not be considered as common cold: Dr. VK Paul 

Amid a steep rise in COVID-19 cases, NITI Aayog Member Dr. VK Paul cautioned that COVID-19 caused by Omicron variant should not be considered as common cold and taken lightly. He reiterated that Omicron is replacing Delta variant of Covid as it is highly transmissible. He said that normally this transmission takes longer but it is rapid this time because of high transmissibility.

Ganga Sagar Mela begins in West Bengal

Ganga Sagar Mela began on January 12, 2022 with strict COVID-19 protocols after it was given a go-ahead by Calcutta High Court. The Ganga Sagar Mela was inaugurated by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The Mela is held every year at Gangasagar in West Bengal. It is the biggest fair in Eastern India and witnesses over lakhs of devotees every year. 

Antiviral drug Molnupiravir not included in National Treatment Task Force for COVID-19

The ICMR DG Balram Bhargava clarified on January 12, 2022 that the antiviral drug Molnupiravir is not included in the National treatment task force for COVID-19. He said that the decision was taken after a long discussion among national experts. He said that they had reviewed whatever data was available after the three trials. He said that the antiviral drug has certain risks that warrant caution in its use and experts were of the view that its known and unknown harms outweigh its claimed benefits. 

Gangasagar Mela 2022

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated Gangasagar Mela following strict COVID-19 protocols after receiving approval from the Calcutta High Court. The Mela is the biggest fair in Eastern India and witnesses footfall from over lakhs of devotees each year. It is held at Gangasagar in West Bengal.

15-year-old student is India’s batonbearer at Queen’s Baton Relay

15-years-old Vinisha Umashankar, a student innovator, has been selected as India’s baton bearer at the ongoing 16th official Queen’s Baton relay (January 12-15, 2022). The student innovator turned environmentalist from Tiruvannamalai district in Tamil Nadu. She had inspired the world with her solar ironing cart, which uses solar panels to power a steam iron box.

India-US agree to advance cooperation in counter-terrorism & cyber security 

India and the United States agreed to advance cooperation in counter-terrorism, cyber security and other areas including global supply chains and securing critical infrastructure on January 12, 2022. This was agreed upon during a senior officers meeting of the India-US Homeland Security Dialogue. Other focus areas of the dialogue were aviation security, maritime security, trade security and customs enforcement.

India, UK to begin Free Trade Agreement negotiations today

India and the United Kingdom will begin negatiations on the Free Trade Agreement today at an event in New Delhi. Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal will meet UK’s International Trade Secretary Anne-Marie Trevelyan to formally kcik-start the talks. The free trade agreement deal is expected to benefit both the nations.

Nigeria lifts ban on Twitter after 7 months

Nigeria has lifted a ban on Twitter after a period of 7 months. The Government of Nigeria had suspended Twitter in June 2021 after the company deleted a tweet by the country’s president about punishing regional secessionists. Nigerian authorities had accused Twitter of siding with the secessionists; however, the government had said it will reverse the ban after Twitter agreed to the conditions including opening a local office in Nigeria. Twitter did not say that it agreed with the demands but tweeted that it was pleased to be restored in Nigeria. The latest move has allowed millions of people in the most populous country in Africa to use the platform again.

PM Modi to virtually inaugurate 25th National Youth Festivaled

A chemical leak was reported on January 11, 2022 in a fish processing plant in Baikampady, located on the outskirts of Mangaluru city in Karnataka. Around 20 employees were hospitalised out of the 80 present at the time of the accident after they developed breathing problems. 

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari tests Covid positive

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari tested positive for Covid-19 on January 11, 2022. He tweeted saying that he has mild symptoms and has isolated himself following all the necessary protocols. The Minister is currently under home quarantine. Earlier, Defence Minister Rajnath Sing had also tested positive for Covid-19. 

IPL Mega auction to be held on February 12-13

The IPL mega auction will take place in Bengaluru on February 12-13, 2022. The news was confirmed after the two new IPL teams- Ahmedabad and Lucknow- received formal clearance from the BCCI. Both teams have now been given a time frame to sign up players before the mega auction. 

Republic Day celebrations to take place with stricter restrictions

The Republic Day celebrations will continue to take place amid the ongoing third wave of COVID-19 with stricter restrictions. The restrictions will be stricter than the ones imposed last year. The number of visitors allowed to witness the parade might be further limited. The route of the parade will also be shorter, similar to last year. The marching contingent will end at India Gate C instead of the Red Fort. 

Lakshadweep achieves 100 percent COVID vaccination in the 15-18 age group

Lakshadweep has achieved 100 percent COVID-19 vaccination of children in the age group of 15-18 years. Lakshadweep has become the first among the states and the Union Territories to achieve the feat. According to the District Collector, the vaccination drive for children was launched by Administrator Praful Patel in Kavaratti as part of the nationwide campaign. The target of 3,492 children was achieved within a week after the launch of the vaccination drive through the various campaigns that were conducted in schools and the mobilization drives. Lakshadweep was also the first among the Uts and the states to have achieved 100% vaccination in other categories as well.

PCB Chairman to propose 4-nation T20I series involving India?

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ramiz Raja said on January 11, 2022 that he will make a proposal to ICC about holding a 4-nation T20I series comprising both India and Pakistan every year. He stated that he wants to see India, Pakistan, England and Australia face each other in the series every year. The matches can be hosted by the four nations on a rotation basis, as per the proposal. 

Spinner Washington Sundar testes positive for COVID-19, out of SA ODIs

Washington Sundar, Team India off-spinner, has been ruled out of the forthcoming ODI series against South Africa after testing positive for Coronavirus. The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Jayant Yadav as a replacement for Washington Sundar. Fast bowler Navdeep Saini has also been added by the Committee to the ODI squad as a back-up for Mohammed Siraj who is recovering from his hamstring injury. India and South Africa will lock horns in three ODIs starting from January 19, 2022, under the Captaincy of KL Rahul.

Oscars to have host after 3 years absence

Oscars 2022 which is scheduled to air on March 27, 2022, will be the first since the 2018 ceremony to have a host. Craig Erwich, ABC Entertainment, and Hulu Originals, has announced that the Oscars will return with a host, however, he did not elaborate on who that might be. Jimmy Kimmel had served as the last host of Oscars, having emceed the ceremony in 2017 and 2018. The Academy Awards went hostless in 2019 when the Academy at first announced Kevin Hart for hosting the gig. However, he was later dropped out after the organisation had asked him to apologize for years-old homophobic tweets.

Poet Maya Angelou becomes first Black Woman to feature on US Coin

Activist and Poet Maya Angelou has become the first black woman to appear on the US quarter, in a new version of the coin which was unveiled by the US Mint on January 10, 2022. The author of ‘I Know Why the Caged Birds Sings’, will also become the first figure commemorated through the American Women Quarters Program. It was signed into law in January 2021. As per the press release from the agency, the US Mint has started shipping the first coins with Maya Angelou’s likeness on the American Quarter, a 25-cent piece. Maya Angelou was born in Missouri in 1928. She was an essayist and poet who had worked with Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X during the Civil Rights Movement.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to address media at 12 pm today

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is scheduled to address a press conference at 12 pm today. He is likely to introduce stricter COVID-19 restrictions in the wake of spiking COVID-19 cases in the capital city. 

PM Modi to inaugurate 11 new medical colleges in Tamil Nadu on January 12th

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate 11 new government medical colleges across the state of Tamil Nadu on January 12, 2022. He will also inaugurate the new campus of Central Institute of Classical Tamil, Chennai through video conferencing. The new medical colleges are being built at a cost of Rs 4000 crore, of which around Rs 2145 crore was provided by the centre and the rest by the state government.

UNESCO’s WHC to publish Hindi descriptions of India’s world heritage sites

UNESCO’s World Heritage Centre will publish Hindi descriptions of India’s UNESCO world heritage sites on its website. This was announced by World Heritage Centre’s Director on the occasion of World Hindi Day on January 10. 

Contact testing not required unless high-risk people are involved: ICMR 

The ICMR said in its latest guidelines issued on January 10, 2022 that those who have come in contact with an infected COVID-19 patient do not need to be tested unless any person is in the high-risk category. The asymptomatic individuals or patients discharged as per home isolation guidelines or those discharged from a covid-19 facility as per revised discharged policy need not be tested as well.  However, individuals with symptoms like cough, fever, sore throat, loss of smell and taste or any respiratory symptom or breathlessness should be tested.

US closely monitoring India-China border dispute

The White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki informed on January 10, 2022 that the US is closely monitoring the India-China border dispute and is concerned by China’s attempts to intimidate its neighbours. Psaki said that the US will continue to support dialogue and peaceful resolution of these border disputes. 

Russia has no intentions of attacking Ukraine: Russian Deputy FM

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said on January 10, 2022 that Russia has no intentions to attack Ukraine. He stressed that there is no need to fear that there would be any kind of escalation of the situation. Russia and the US had security talks on January 20th in Geneva, which went on for almost 7.5 hours. 

Pierre-Olivier Gourinchas appointed as Chief Economist of IMF

Pierre-Olivier Gourinchas, a French-born University of California-Berkley Economist, has been appointed as the next Chief Economist of the International Monetary Fund. He has replaced the Indian-Origin Gita Gopinath. Gourinchas will succeed Gita Gopinath who has been appointed as the First Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund. Gourinchas will begin his work as the new Chief Economist on January 24, 2022, initially on a part-time basis as he will conclude some prior teaching commitments. He will transition to full time on April 1. As per IMF, Pierre-Olivier will bring his expertise in analysing today’s most pressing economic problems. He is known for his agility in spotting emerging trends in the field of economics.

Chris Morris, South African all-rounder, announces retirement from all forms of cricket

Chris Morris, the South African all-rounder, announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on January 11, 2022. The cricketer thanked everyone who was part of his journey and also expressed excitement for his new role as a coach. Chris Morris had made his international debut in December 2012 against New Zealand and had played his first One Day Internationals in 2013. The all-rounder featured in four tests, 23 T2Ois and 42 ODIs for South Africa. He last played an international game in 2019.
