What is RBI Assistant exam?

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) conducts the RBI Assistant Test to appoint the Assistant to its various branches across the country.

As it is a recruitment process at the national level, applications from all parts of India are invited, and candidates may apply for this post online. The examination is carried out in three phases: preliminary and Mains, followed by a language proficiency test (LPT).

Mains Exam score is used to make the merit list of selected candidates for the RBI Assistant post.

 

RBI Assistant Exam Date 2020 and Notifications:

RBI Assistant Recruitment 2020 Notification for the post of “Assistant” was issued by RBI on 23 December 2019.

The prelims examination was held on February 14-15, 2020. The test was conducted to fill the 926-vacancy position. If a candidate clears the Prelims, he / she will sit in the Mains examinations.

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY TEST (LPT):

A language proficiency test (LPT) will be required for candidates provisionally shortlisted from the main online exam. The language proficiency examination is administered to ensure that applicants are well versed in the local language. The LPT is carried out in the state’s Local Language. The LPT pattern is listed below and the bank may conduct both oral and written tests:

Salary: 

For an RBI assistant, the basic pay is Rs. 14,650/- per month. Apart from the basic pay, the RBI Assistant is also given the Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, Travel Allowance etc. Therefore, an RBI Assistant’s Gross Salary varies from approximately Rs. 32,124/- per month.

 

Eligibility for RBI Assistants 2020:

1. Bachelor’s degree in any area with not less than 50% aggregate marks.

2. The applicants should have an age limit of 20 to 28 years.

3. Candidates must have computer skills and local state language proficiency.

4. A applicant belonging to the group of ex-servicemen (with the exception of ex-serviceman dependents) should either be a graduate of a recognized university or have completed the Armed Forces matriculation or their corresponding test and conducted at least 15 years of defense service.
