How to Become An Army Officer After 12th

The highly reputed and most respectable profession is being in an army family. The firewall of the country – the army. Nowadays the youth is more enthusiastic to be a part of the army. It is the dream job of many students to join the Indian Armed forces.

Eligibility and Selection

There are two ways to join the army and so the eligibility varies accordingly. Below are mentioned two ways along with other details:

  • NDA Examination
  • Open twice a year
  • Forms available in March and October as per notified by UPSC
  • Interview by – SSB (Services Selection Board)
  • Age Limit – 16½ years to 19½ years on the day the course is expected to start
  • Qualification – Class 10+2
  • Marital status – Unmarried
  • Training commencement date – January and July
  • Training Academy -NDA, Khadakwasla, Pune
  • Training duration – 3 years at NDA and 1 year at IMA Dehradun
  • TES examination for Science graduates
  • Open twice a year
  • Forms available in April and September as per notified by Additional directorate general of recruiting
  • Interview by – SSB (Services Selection Board)
  • Age Limit – 16½ years to 19½ years on the day the course is expected to start
  • Qualification – Class 10+2 with PCM aggregate at least 70%
  • Marital status – Unmarried
  • Training commencement date – January and July
  • Training Academy – IMA Dehradun
  • Training duration – 5 years – 1 year at IMA and 4 years at CTWS
