Eligibility and Selection

There are two ways to join the army and so the eligibility varies accordingly. Below are mentioned two ways along with other details:

NDA Examination
Open twice a year
Forms available in March and October as per notified by UPSC
Interview by – SSB (Services Selection Board)
Age Limit – 16½ years to 19½ years on the day the course is expected to start
Qualification – Class 10+2
Marital status – Unmarried
Training commencement date – January and July
Training Academy -NDA, Khadakwasla, Pune
Training duration – 3 years at NDA and 1 year at IMA Dehradun

TES examination for Science graduates
Open twice a year
Forms available in April and September as per notified by Additional directorate general of recruiting
Interview by – SSB (Services Selection Board)
Age Limit – 16½ years to 19½ years on the day the course is expected to start
Qualification – Class 10+2 with PCM aggregate at least 70%
Marital status – Unmarried
Training commencement date – January and July
Training Academy – IMA Dehradun
Training duration – 5 years – 1 year at IMA and 4 years at CTWS
